Why Alzheimer's is Unpopular

Alzheimer's disease is not exciting, remarkable, valuable, useful or in any way a good thing to have around. Equally, there is little doubt that it is a disease most people fear. They want to push it to one side or they actively choose to ignore its presence. None of these things are particularly surprising but it doesn't mean we shouldn't consider why so many people feel this way and why intolerance towards the elderly is as bad, if not worse, than ever. One way of trying to explain prejudice is to consider the roots of our cultural values. Read more.
