Routine testing of the urine is one of a number of tests that doctors will carry out when someone presents with symptoms that may indicate a diagnosis of Alzheimer's. Urinalysis can show up a number abnormalities such as diabetes, renal disease and cancer too. Diagnosing diseases like dementia is about excluding other possible causes.
