World Alzheimer's Month- What is it? It's a time set aside by the Alzheimer's Association to highlight Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Why? 35 million people worldwide are affected by dementia. Maybe you know a few of those people. United together, we can accomplish more in the fight against dementia.
How Can This Help? Increased awareness helps raise funds to continue the research on treatments and prevention.
When? The whole month of September is World Alzheimer's Month, but on September 21, the Alzheimer's Association is suggesting that you wear purple and change your facebook icon to the purple End Alzheimer's button.
In conjunction with World Alzheimer's month, the Alzheimer's Association is also holding a Walk to End Alzheimer's. Their goal is to have 40,000 teams walking, and so far they have around 30,000. These local walks throughout the nation will be held on September 29, 2012. For more information, check with your local Association.

I used to think of mercury, aluminium and even iron implicated in AD but lately have been looking at ASPARTAME as swamping the AD cases. Has anyone done a comparison of sales of aspartame and AD?
The part implicated is the methanol and formaldehyde breakdown products so there are other exposures other than aspartame of course.
