Q. Does memory loss mean I have Alzheimer's?

A. Everyone forgets information sometimes. I often go upstairs and forget what I have gone up for. Age does increase the incidence of forgetfulness, but that does not mean that you are suffering from any disease. The symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease are ultimately more severe and involve other symptoms as well as everyday memory lapses.

There are a number of diagnostic tests that a doctor or clinician carries out that all contribute to an accurate diagnosis of dementia such as Alzheimer's disease.
