Definition: Deposits of the protein alpha-synuclein inside nerve cells in the brain. Lewy bodies are associated with Lewy body dementia; they are also found in the brains of those with Parkinson's disease and -- sometimes -- Alzheimer's disease, making diagnosis more complicated.
